Overview

The APP Supervisor is responsible for providing additional support and clinical leadership for their perspective area by sharing practice expertise, giving valuable feedback to APP colleague group and leadership, overseeing the specialty specific onboarding process, cascading information to colleagues, as well as serving as a mentor for new APPs to the department and Carle Health. The APP Supervisor plays a critical role in the recruitment of new APPs in addition to the retention and engagement of current APPs.

Opportunity Details

Summary of essential standard job functions :

  • Work collaboratively with operational leadership to support the Emergency Department at Carle Foundation Hospital, onboarding of experienced providers, and retention of current providers.
  • Assist the operational Emergency Department Teams in establishing and accomplishing departmental goals and objectives in alignment with the organization's Strategic Pillars.
  • Participate in change initiatives to improve patient care and the service delivery model.
  • Monitor and consistently work to improve clinical quality and the efficient delivery of care and will be dedicated to establishing and evaluating performance expectations, which provide the highest quality patient care and consistency in clinical care standards, driven by patient safety requirements and clinical outcomes monitoring.
  • Partner with the operational leadership to regarding setting and communicating expectations for performance and behaviors to the Emergency Department.
  • Proactively share best practices related to workflows, continuing education, engagement, and patient satisfaction with fellow leaders and providers.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment of new professional staff team members, onboarding and off boarding process to ensure positive impressions of Carle are developed and / or maintained, regular rounding of team members.
  • Oversee Physician Assistant students rotating through the Emergency Department.
  • Compensation is provided for the allotted .2 FTE of this role.

Experience Requirement :

  • Active Illinois State Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • 2+ years of clinical practice in Emergency Medicine (does not all have to be at Carle)

    Compensation and Benefits

    The compensation range for this position is $81.52 / hr. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
