HOCHHEISER & AKMAL PLLC, a premier corporate boutique law firm based in Garden City, New York, is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Corporate Department. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mentor and work with entry-level associates
- Communicate with clients and draft documents for firm projects
- Support the senior attorneys on projects and tasks as needed
SKILLS & PROFILE
Admission to the New York Bar in good standingStrong academic background with a top tier law schoolCANDIDATE MUST HAVE 3-5 PLUS YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN COMMERCIAL AND CORPORATE TRANSACTIONSCandidate must have experience with drafting and revising terms and conditions, supply and distribution agreements, shareholders' agreements, joint venture agreements, licensing agreements, and master services agreementsThe willingness to tackle complex transactionsExperience with federal procurements (FARS and DFARs) and export control is preferred.Prior mergers and acquisitions (buy and sell side) experience is also preferred.Proven strong legal research, writing and analytical skillsAbility to interpret, analyze, organize and express complex legal material quickly and accuratelyStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and proactively meet deadlines and achieve individual objectives within larger team projects and goalsHigh levels of self-direction, self-motivation and energyStrong communication, presentation and interpersonal skillsAbility to effectively relate to and build relationships with all levels of staffAbility to thrive in a team environmentDesire to gain experience and contribute to general corporate mattersQUALIFICATIONS
ADMISSION TO THE NEW YORK BAR REQUIRED; ALSO, ADMISSION TO OTHER STATES (NJ, CA, ME, OK, AK, NE) PREFERRED.
