What You'll Do

The Configuration Analyst is a multi-functional role working directly with business, IT teams and vendors to craft, build and maintain critical processes within configurable systems. This role will be responsible for providing technical solutions, configuration, and consultation for purposes of designing, developing, testing, and implementing products within a wide range of configurable systems. Responsibilities include :

  • Configure ALIP (Accenture Life Insurance & Annuity Platform) for product calculations, including values and data elements using visual basic language.
  • Use PostgreSQL to query relational databases and support data analysis needs.
  • Collaborate with ALIP vendor to coordinate bug fixes, change requests, and system enhancements.
  • Field questions and troubleshoot issues from IT, Operations, Actuarial and Finance.
  • Conduct production verification and validation after bi-monthly releases.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems as needed.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to team members to support their professional growth, strengthen skills, and enhance overall team performance. Offer guidance on best practices, share subject matter expertise, and foster a collaborative environment that encourages learning and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, including finance, IT, operations, and vendors, to drive product development and enhancements. Provide guidance on issue resolution, help prioritize initiatives, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Serve as a key resource to facilitate cross-functional collaboration, anticipate risks, and support informed decision-making.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, including managing budgets, setting priorities, and ensuring deliverables align with business objectives. Collaborate with vendors to drive performance, address issues proactively, and identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced value.

Who You Are

  • 6 years of related work experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following : work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred, ideally in computer science, technology, engineering, or a math-related field.
  • Detailed technical understanding of annuity products including systems and processes relating to new business and policy administration
  • Excellent leadership, planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, decision-making and communication skills (strong preference for someone with formal or informal leadership experience)
  • Expert experience with SQL (relational databases), Excel / VBA, XML, or similar tools
  • Strategic thinking (ability to consider both immediate impacts and the broader context to attain success in the future)
  • Ability to recognize relevant business and operational risks, manage them to optimize outcomes and minimize loss, and safeguard business resiliency
  • Must be able to provide expert advice for the purposes of solving organizational problems and implementing solutions
  • May be required to work outside of core hours (nights / weekends)
  • Travel may be required
  • Skills to have you stand out :

  • ALIP configuration experience
  • Finance or actuary background
  • Experience understanding complex calculations needed for product values and fees in ALIP
  • Knowledge of Visual Basic / Excel
  • Salary Range Information

    Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and / or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

    Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

    $100800 - $158400 / year

    Time Off Program

    Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

    This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, Raleigh, NC, or Charlotte, NC). You'll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
