Structural Steel Welder

Schedule : Monday – Friday | 6 : 00 AM – 2 : 30 PM

Location : Sacramento, CA

Pay : $24.00 – $29.00 / hour DOE

Job Description :

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Structural Steel Welder for a fabrication shop in Sacramento. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a certified welder with experience in structural steel fabrication. The role involves MIG welding, layout, fitting, and operating CNC equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform MIG and dual shield welding on beams, columns, handrails, and structural steel
  • Execute beveled cuts, CJP welds, air arc gouging, and oxy-acetylene torch work
  • Layout, fit, and weld structural steel components
  • Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
  • Accurately measure and cut parts using tape measures and other tools
  • Operate CNC drill line, forklifts, and boom lifts to move and position materials
  • Apply grinding, coping, bending, and finishing techniques
  • Maintain safe work practices and a clean work environment

Qualifications :

  • Welding certification preferred
  • Structural steel shop fabrication experience required
  • Background includes work in fabrication shops and structural steel companies
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
