Job Description Overview
The Technician I supports our PET bottle production line. You will be responsible for machine maintenance, including diagnosing and performing preventative and corrective maintenance. This role will be cross-trained in our Process / Maintenance-Technician Blow Molding role. You will support process improvement and new technology processes to achieve goals for profitability, safety, and ergonomics. Additionally, you will assist the Chief Engineer and Management team with other projects as assigned.
- Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
- Adhere to all instructions, Good Manufacturing Practices, and housekeeping procedures.
- Process, troubleshoot, and repair all machines and support equipment.
- Monitor and adjust bottle processes to optimize quality and minimize scrap.
- Complete preform and bottle changeovers.
- Become proficient in facility-specific blow molder and injection equipment operations & troubleshooting.
- Replace or repair machine parts.
- Assist with machine installation.
Process / Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
Reduce scrap and promote efficient cycle times.Provide solutions to production problems.Follow start-up and shut-down procedures.Perform preventative maintenance.Maintain downtime documentation.Assist with cross-training technicians and tasks such as mold changes, machine start / stop, purging, filter cleaning, and chiller maintenance.Education and Experience
Experience with industrial processing equipment; blow molding and injection preferred.At least 3 years in an industrial setting with processing or maintenance responsibilities.Technical School training in Injection / Blow Molding preferred.High School diploma or equivalent required.Skills and Abilities
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize.Follow verbal and written instructions.Proficient in English reading, writing, and communication.Basic math, computer, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills.Work independently and in teams.Work overtime and weekends as needed.Operate material handling equipment.Comply with OSHA and lock-out / tag-out safety rules.Must obtain forklift certification within 60 days.Physical Requirements
Stand and walk for prolonged periods.Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Perform physical activities like pushing, pulling, climbing, and repetitive motions.Work environment includes warehouse conditions with temperature variations.Benefits
