American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Cardiac Renal Med / Surg Tele position, requiring strong cardiac telemetry skills and a current compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Cardiac Renal Med / Surg Tele unit of a hospitalUnit size is 34 beds with a night shift patient ratio of 1 : 6-7Provides care to post-cardiac procedure patients, A-fib RVR, ESRD, CHF, sepsis, tracheostomies, nephrostomy tubes, and behavioral health / detox casesUses Epic for charting; recent Epic experience required12-hour night shifts from 6 : 30 pm to 7 : 00 amRotating schedule with three weekends required every six weeks and every other holidayFirst to float within skillset, with float locations including Deaconess Midtown (8 miles away) and Deaconess Henderson (11 miles away); 2-hour notice for cross-campus floatMid-shift floating possible within same campus, cross-campus mid-shift floating is unlikely but possibleNo on-call or call back responsibilitiesResponsibilities include advanced cardiac care, telemetry monitoring, post-procedure recovery, and behavioral health / detox managementTeam has strong unit leadership and offers support, with charge nurses taking patient assignmentsMay be required to precept students and new hires as a teaching hospitalNavy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logosUp to three call-ins may result in terminationCOVID-19 vaccine is not currently required but is subject to change\n \n Requirements\n
Active RN compact license requiredAHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredMinimum two years of strong cardiac / telemetry experience requiredAt least one prior travel assignment and trauma level II experience requiredMust have recent Epic EMR experience and will be required to complete a checkoff classSkill in tele / 12-lead EKG interpretation required; travelers must pass telemetry testsCompetency in recovering heart catheterization patients, PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, drip management for cardiac and other medications, CBI, detox / CIWA protocol, and central line careStrong assessment and critical thinking skills requiredNo local candidates; must live more than 40 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n
