Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services field, Special Education, Psychology, or a minimum of 5 years experience in DD / OPWDD and willingness to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)Work Experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities / OPWDDAn ability to supervise and train staff in the appropriate programs and the behavioral techniques used for training individuals with developmental disabilities.Sensitivity to the needs of the program participants.Certification in CPR, SCIP, First Aid and Medication Administration.Valid driver’s licenseStrong command of verbal and written communication skills (English)Accountability :
Directly accountable to the assigned Program Developer and the Day Habilitation Program CoordinatorSpecific Responsibilities :
ProgrammingParticipates in the development, writing, and implementation of the Individual’s life plan
Implements weekly and daily programs to assist each Individual in attaining their individual goals.Accurately documents Individuals’ progress in attaining their valued outcomes on a daily and monthly basis.Accurately documents individuals’ progress in behavioral programs.SupervisionTrains direct care staff to implement and accurately document daily progress towards valued outcomes.Ensures that the individuals’ valued outcomes that have been developed are followed, and that the daily programs are meeting the needs of the individuals and the group.Participates in and ensures implementation and recording of progress towards valued outcomes on a daily basis.Evaluates staff performance continuously and provides feedback to the Program Developer and Coordinator.Ensures staff and individuals are seated in van according to policy to ensure safety.Maintains a professional and respectful relationship with Supervisors and Direct Care Staff.Works with the Program Developer and Coordinator to ensure that specific individuals are assigned to specific staff throughout the program day.Ensures that all individuals are properly accounted for whenever leaving or arriving at the Program for any reason, and that all individuals are properly accounted for when transitioning to and from various locations.Writes monthly service note for each individual in assigned group and accurately notes progress toward valued outcomes and response to the service provided.Ensures that the individuals’ life plan and BSP are accurate.General Responsibilities :
Participates in inservice trainingFollows all Hawthorne Foundation, Inc. policies and procedures and mission statement.Directly responsible for all individuals’ health, safety, and welfare.Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by Program Developer and / or CoordinatorTransports individuals to / from program and activities as needed.Physical Responsibilities :
Sitting, standing, bending, lifting furniture and consumers as necessary.Must be able to effectively use skills required as part of this position, i.e., CPR, First Aid, SCIP-R, AMAP, etc.Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.Must be able to function independently, have personal integrity, flexibility and the ability to work effectively with other personnel.Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.Must possess sight, hearing, and smell senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be met.#ZR
