Investment Analyst, Convertibles

Position : Investment Analyst, Convertibles Team : Convertibles Location : Greenwich, CT Company Overview : Verition Fund Management LLC ("Verition") is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008. Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Credit, Fixed Income & Macro, Convertible & Volatility Arbitrage, Event-Driven, Equity Long / Short & Capital Markets, and Quantitative Strategies.

Role Summary : We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Analyst to join a Convertibles team in Greenwich, CT. The ideal candidate will have 15 years of experience on the sell side or buy side or come from an undergraduate or MBA program. A background in credit or volatility is a plus, but not required. This role is designed for individuals with a strong interest in convertible securities, a strong academic background and a proven track record of excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Analyze convertible securities (i.e. bonds that can convert into stock) : look at pricing, structure, risk vs reward, credit quality, volatility, catalysts, and hedging possibilities.
  • Build and maintain models and screens to support investment ideas.
  • Conduct credit analysis for convertible issuers.
  • Stay current on market trends, macroeconomic factors, and sector developments impacting convertibles and underlying equities.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and risk exposure.
  • Partner with trading, compliance, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Develop an investment framework under the mentorship of the Portfolio Manager.

Qualifications :

  • 1-5 years sell side or buy side experience or coming from an undergraduate or MBA program.
  • Excellent academic background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
  • A background in credit or volatility is a plus, but not required.
