Position : Family Nurse Practitioner
Location : On-site – Fort Myers, FL
Overview
Join a dedicated clinical team providing care to employees and families of the Lee County Sheriff's Office. The facility includes 3 providers, 5 medical assistants, 1 radiology technician, and an RN facility manager. This is a per diem role designed to cover FMLA, PTO, LOAs, and other staffing needs. While not full-time initially, this position may transition to a full-time opportunity for the right candidate. No evenings or weekends required.
Work Hours
Monday : 7 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM
Tuesday : 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 30 PM
Wednesday : 7 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM
Thursday : 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 30 PM
Friday : 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 30 PM
Responsibilities
Deliver primary care in an employer-based clinical setting
Provide episodic care for low-acuity urgent needs
Manage chronic conditions for patients ages 18+
Provide acute care for pediatric patients ages 2+
Conduct CLIA-waived diagnostic tests
Dispense prescription medications (requires Florida Dispensing License and DEA certification)
Partner with onsite staff to conduct biometric screenings and promote health and wellness
Offer individualized health coaching and refer patients to relevant wellness programs
Qualifications
Active Florida Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license
3+ years of experience practicing independently in internal medicine or family practice
Authorized to practice independently in Florida
DEA license and prescriptive authority
Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR)
Current BLS certification
Strong communication skills across individual and group settings
Commitment to patient education, health promotion, and wellness
High energy and strong customer-focused approach
