Stationary Engineer

Location : GM Facility, Lake Orion, MI

Schedule : 7-day rotation including weekends / holidays + on-call Compensation : $41.32 / hr + shift differential

Job Summary

Join JLL's utilities operations team as a Stationary Engineer maintaining and operating a large industrial utilities facility serving a manufacturing complex. Responsibilities include monitoring steam, chilled water, wastewater treatment, and essential utility systems while ensuring optimal performance, safety compliance, and energy efficiency in 24 / 7 operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, repair, and maintain high pressure boilers and steam production systems
• Manage Trane 1000-ton and 4000-ton Carrier chiller units with primary / secondary pumps
• Operate cooling towers, wastewater treatment systems, and resin bed deionized water systems
• Perform predictive maintenance (ultrasonic leak detection, thermal scans, vibration analysis)
• Monitor systems from control room and respond to equipment needs
• Execute scheduled / corrective maintenance per safety and operating procedures
• Diagnose problems affecting facility operations and environmental compliance
• Maintain detailed records, logbook entries, and support energy conservation measures
• Participate in GM's GMS process and Level 5 BPD Boards
• Respond to emergencies and provide shift coverage as required
