Store Clerk / Warehouse employee needed for Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio, a large non-profit, single family home builder and social service provider. We are seeking a proficient, results-oriented candidate with excellent skills for this position. Qualifications
- 2-years experience in accurately entering transactions and operating a cash register, cash handling and making change.
- Good people and teamwork skills and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to complete all tasks assigned.
- Strong organizational skills : high attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Fork Lift experience, preferred.
Abilities Required :
Much of the work is performed while standing and / or walking.Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights up to 50 lbs.Requires some bending, squatting, twisting, climbing, reaching, and sitting.Requires the use of hands for grasping and fine manipulations.Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to dust, and fumes from warehouse equipment and vehicles.Be able to operate a fork lift.Requires listening to and understanding information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.Must be able to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.Requires accurate mathematical calculation abilities (add, subtract, multiply, & divide).Responsibilities :
Ensure strict adherence to HFHSA policies, procedures, internal controls, cash register and store operation procedures.Accurately operate assigned cash register, receive full payment from customers by cash, check or credit card and accurately count and provide change to customers.Accurately enter credit card transactions into the credit card terminal.Verify merchandise prices prior to ringing into cash register.Provide customer service, answer phones and assist with scheduling pick-ups.Keep sales area around register station presentable and stocked.Assist with general stocking as directed by store management.Assist with merchandise loading and unloading.Assist with pricing merchandise as directed by store management.Help keep store clean at all times and free from safety hazards.Adhere to all safety procedures.Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio & Guadalupe Valley is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
