Overview
Episcopal High School is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach. The Assistant Coach will report to the Head Coach and provide coaching expertise, leadership, support and guidance of all aspects of the program, resulting in a positive and beneficial experience for athletes.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, organization, and supervision for all practices and games in conjunction with head coach.
- Work directly with players to improve skills, techniques, and game strategy, often focusing on specific positions or areas of need.
- Analyze opposing teams' strengths and weaknesses to develop game plans.
- Assist the head coach in designing and running practice sessions, including drills and game simulations.
- Track player statistics, analyze performance data, and present insights to the head coach.
- Assist the head coach with logistical aspects like scheduling games and managing equipment.
- Relay information between the head coach and players, provide feedback on performance, and address concerns.
- Commitment to athlete safety, welfare, physical, and mental health.
- Complete the Safeguarding God's Children training, both in person and online.
- Maintain relationships with parents, alumni, friends of the program, and others toward the positive image and promotion of the program and School.
- Attend and participate in athletic department meetings.
Qualifications
Excellence with interpersonal communications (written and oral) skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment is necessary. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and mentoring skills and a strong desire to learn. Must maintain a high level of professionalism and be comfortable working in a flexible, team environment with a positive attitude.
