Title : Special Education Teacher - K-12 Academy Self-Contained

Location : Charleston, SC

Pay Rate : Up to $55.00 / hour

As an K-12 school-based Special Education Teacher in Charleston, SC , your days will include :

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs, district guidelines, and state standards.
  • Deliver differentiated instruction using evidence-based practices tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and independence.
  • Assess, track, and report student progress toward IEP goals through ongoing data collection and formative / summative evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, service minutes, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, families, and school staff to ensure student access to the general curriculum.
  • Provide accommodations, modifications, and behavioral supports in accordance with IEPs and 504 Plans.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Integrate technology to support instruction, communication, and student engagement.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, staff meetings, and training as required

    • Job Details :

  • Position : Contracted Special Education Teacher
  • Hours : Full-time, 40 hours (Monday - Friday)
  • Assignment Type : K-12 Academy; 3 students with Autism

    • Successful Candidates Possess :

  • A Bachelors or Master's degree in Special Education (required)
  • Valid state teaching license / certification in Special Education (required)
  • Experience teaching students with disabilities in a classroom or resource setting.
  • Strong understanding of IDEA, IEP development, and progress monitoring.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
