MHS is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Psychology Resident to join our team for the 20262027 school year. This full-time, one-year position is designed for individuals who have completed doctoral training and a pre-doctoral internship and are seeking supervised experience prior to licensure. The Psychology Resident will play a critical role in supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of children and adolescents within our school community.
Key Responsibilities :
Therapeutic Services : Provide direct individual and group therapy to students with diverse and complex psychological needs.
Psychological Assessment : Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments to inform treatment planning and educational support.
Supervision & Mentorship : Co-lead group supervision for pre-doctoral psychology interns and serve as a mentor, contributing to their professional development.
Crisis Intervention & Risk Assessment : Assess and respond to suicide and homicide risks, make recommendations for hospitalization when necessary, and participate in the 24 / 7 on-call rotation for emergency psychological services.
Consultation & Collaboration : Work closely with school staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure ethical and effective psychological care.
Training & Leadership : Provide staff training and contribute to the Internship Training Committee, promoting best practices in school-based mental health.
Program Development : Offer proactive recommendations to enhance the psychological climate of school programs and support students emotional and academic success.

Work schedule : This is an on-site, on-year role, Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 am 4 : 30 pm. The resident will serve in an on-call capacity after hours / on weekends during on-call rotations January-July. Salary : $70,412 - $94,000 (commensurate with experience) plus a benefits package.
Qualifications :
Completion of a Doctoral Degree in counseling, clinical, or school psychology from an APA-approved program.
Completion of a pre-doctoral psychology internship.
PA School Psychology certification is a plus.
Prior experience providing mental health and school psychological services to children and adolescents.
Knowledge of and experience with psychotherapy, psychological / diagnostic assessment, and professional ethics.
Knowledge of and experience with clinical procedures, treatment plan management, and crisis intervention.
Knowledge of and experience working with students from families of low income and a diverse student population.
Must have completed all graduate program requirements prior to the position start date to be eligible.
Provide three letters of reference, preferably at the time of application.
Must demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS Staff are role models for MHS Students.
