As a member of our compassionate team at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, you will have the opportunity to provide care to patients as whole individuals, ensuring their physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness.

Your Role :

The Registered Nurse (RN) will coordinate the efforts of a collaborative care team, delivering exceptional patient care to our oncology patients. This role involves directly caring for patients, while working closely with families, peers, and other healthcare professionals to create personalized care plans. Through the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation), you will work to maintain and improve patient outcomes.

As an RN, you will demonstrate strong leadership skills, uphold professional accountability, and strive for continuous growth. You will have the opportunity to evolve from novice to expert, becoming an evidence-based practitioner who advocates for patients and embodies the mission, vision, and values of Shawnee Mission Health. You will adhere to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act and all relevant regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Apply accurate assessment skills tailored to patient needs, adhering to evidence-based practices and standards.
  • Promote patient safety through established protocols while addressing their physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs through a thoughtful care plan.
  • Prioritize nursing interventions based on patient necessity and available resources.
  • Actively engage in bedside shift reporting, safety huddles, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounds to ensure seamless care transitions.

    • Qualifications :

    To excel in this role, you will need :

  • Kansas Registered Nurse License
  • BCLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or the achievement of this degree within 4 years of hire
