Job Title : Environmental Services Worker

This position involves performing routine manual labor duties of an unskilled nature in the collection of trash and recyclable materials. The role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and includes tasks such as litter removal, garbage collection in public areas, canal cleaning support, and handling heavy materials. The position also involves interaction with the public, use of City vehicles and communication equipment, and reporting maintenance or safety concerns.

This is an anticipated opening.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine manual labor duties in the collection of trash and recyclable materials.
• Remove litter and empty garbage cans in public areas.
• Assist with canal cleaning operations on a limited basis.
• Load and unload heavy materials from trucks and vans.
• Drive a City vehicle to carry out duties, as required.
• Use a radio to communicate with the Central Dispatch Center.
• Report damage or suspicious activity.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Visually inspect locations to ensure cleanliness and identify maintenance issues.
• Interact with staff and the public to investigate and resolve complaints.
• Perform related duties as required.
