The Instrumentation Technician II will install test equipment in development vehicles such as thermocouples, transducers, sensors, fiber optics, and accelerometers. The role will build, modify, adjust and calibrate installed devices, as well as build and install low voltage wire harnesses to drawings and schematics. The Instrumentation Technician II will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.  This position is located in Allen Park, MI.

As an Instrumentation Technician II, you will be responsible for :

• Building and installing low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring harnesses, auxiliary battery and electrical systems
• Installing, adjusting and calibrating sensors, shunts, fiber optics, accelerometers and data acquisition systems
• Collaborating with customers, fabricators, and mechanics to identify required locations for sensor installation according to Instrumentation Requirement List (IRL)
• Assisting in performing complete functional inspection and prove-out of instrumentation according to Instrumentation Quality Assurance (IQA)
• Diagnosing faulty low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring systems and repair
• Working with electronic functional and measurement tools, such as power supplies, function generators, and multimeter
• Maintaining records by entering notes into service repair requests
• Keeping shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
• Participating in daily shop organization and clean-up
