The Senior Accounting Specialist-Operations position is responsible for performing a variety of functions within the Finance department. This includes, but is not limited to, investment activity, reconciliations, journal entries, and various other requirements.

Requirements :

Essential Job Functions

Verifies and corrects unposted items
Prepares and files bi-weekly 945 tax withholding payments and annual returns
Reviews and processes daily investment activity including payments, purchases, sales and reconciliation of accounts.
Add, maintain and reconcile all prepaid expenses.
Add, maintain and reconcile all fixed asset expenses.
Creates and enters journal entries for various purposes within the department.
Reconciles numerous general ledger and internal checking accounts. Timing of these reconciliations will be on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Gathers internal and external audit and exam request documents as needed.

Other Duties

Serve as backup for various functions within the accounting department.

Performs additional duties, as directed by management.

General office and organizational skills.

Qualifications, Experience, and Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred or minimum 5 years’ experience in bank accounting environment.

Strong knowledge of banking systems, financial reporting and general ledger accounting.

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated proficiency with office software including spreadsheets, word processing, and electronic mail applications.

Strong analytical skills.

Ability to successfully work both as an individual contributor as well as a team member.

Ability to multi-task conflicting priorities effectively.

Ability to work successfully with time constraints.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Attention to detail.
