What You'll Do
Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory currentEnsure the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment is properly maintainedEnsure work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment are submitted to the appropriate personsConfer with others to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functional areas such as customer service and salesEnsure a safe operation of the warehouse including meeting company standards for sanitation, maintenance, security, and housekeepingEffectively manage the budget and P&L of the operationEnsure operational excellence in all warehouse areas, related equipment, and systemsPartner with others to maintain the proper layout of warehouse and product placementMonitor and ensure facility key performance indicators (KPI) are met in a timely and cost-effective manner to ensure the profitability and productivityEnsure accurate timekeeping for direct reports and reporting teamsLead cultural change within facilities whenever necessaryEnsure compliance as applicableParticipate in the interviewing, hiring, and training of supervisory and hourly staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; and appraising performance to create a strong company cultureAddress complaints and resolve problemsOversee warehouse sanitation in your assigned departmentWhat You'll Need
Ideally, a Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Operations, Fulfillment Center Operations, or Distribution Center OperationsMinimum of 6 to 8 years related experience and / or training, or an equivalent combination of education and trainingExperience with warehouse management systemsExperience with labor management systems and productivity initiativesLean Six Sigma certificationProficient with enterprise technology systems such as Advanced Excel, Outlook / Gmail, Project Management Software, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Process Workflow creationAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and internal and external customersAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsExperience leading teams of 40+ employees, building layers of leadership to support employees down to the associate level, and extensive experience with performance management of those direct reportsWe are exceptionally proud of our dedicated, brilliant ShipMonkersthe employees who collaborate to provide first-class service, solve problems, and collaborate to get the job done.
