Aftermarket Sales Engineer

ProMach's MBF North America, suppliers of bottling and packaging equipment, is seeking an experienced Aftermarket Sales Engineer to hit the ground running in an important territory with significant growth potential. The Aftermarket Sales Engineer contributes to our success by developing, maintaining, and growing our customer relationships to achieve targeted sales goals. They are motivated, self-starters, with a strong desire to achieve personal and professional growth. The position will require travel to our North America customers. This position reports to the Director of Operations and is located at our Petaluma, California facility.

MBF North America, based in Petaluma, CA, represents a complete range of packaging equipment from leading manufacturers based in Italy. The manufacturers are prominent in all food and beverage industries including wine, spirit, beer, soft drink, water, oil, fruits and jams. Are you passionate about this work?

  • Effectively develop and promote conversion, retrofit, and rebuild opportunities by understanding installed base and opportunities for improvement and by developing customer contacts and building relationships with existing customer base.
  • Ensure all needed engineering specs, samples, and important details are collected to process quotes.
  • Develop and process all quotes and orders in a timely manner.
  • Recommend product enhancements or other up-sell opportunities and follow-up on efforts to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
  • Develop and present technical information to customers in person and over electronic media
  • Partner with global marketing to develop world-class aftermarket marketing collateral
  • Research and analyze competitive information, and leverage to improve our ability to compete.
  • Develop installed base data mining tools and leverage the data to identify potential sales opportunities and to sell aftermarket products and services.
  • Analyze spending trends, business metrics, and parts sales history for customers and create actionable strategies to grow revenue for the department.
  • Develop and implement business plans to regain lost customers / revenue.
  • Independently and proactively contact and visit customers in pursuit of leads and opportunities.
  • Follow-up on open project quotes to secure projects and / or confirm customer interest / project validity.
  • Launch and manage all projects with needed details, follow-up on needed purchase order issuance, customer invoicing, and project timing details.
  • Act as a liaison for technical resolution during the project, upon installation, and after project completion.
  • Interface with internal company department resources as required to move project needs along (i.e. engineering, purchasing, shipping, and management).
  • Solid knowledge of basic tools, service, and shop equipment is essential.
  • Requires a high business acumen and strong attention to solution selling and detail with excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Travel is required to our North America customers.
  • Must be able to travel at least one week per month.
