Job Title : AP Accountant
Salary : $65,000-$68,000 annually
Overview :
Our client in the construction industry is seeking a detail-oriented AP Accountant to join their team. This is a high-impact role focused on managing accounts payable across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in a fast-paced environment. The AP Accountant will play a key role in supporting both general and project-based accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities :
Review, code, and process invoices (general and project-based), ensuring proper routing and approval
Track invoice progress and prepare weekly check runs
Maintain vendor records, collect W-9s, and ensure accurate 1099 reporting
Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and manage payment timelines
Monitor accounts to prevent duplicate payments and maintain subcontractor insurance certificates
Answer phones, sort and distribute mail, and handle confidential personal expense processing
Support intercompany payments and lien waiver tracking as directed
Perform ad hoc projects and support broader accounting functions as needed
Qualifications :
Strong full-cycle Construction AP experience
Proficiency with larger ERP
Strong Excel skills : ability to manipulate and summarize data
Experience with lien waivers, insurance certificates, and project-based invoicing
Ideal Traits :

Calm and professional demeanor when handling vendor calls, including late payment situations
Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive financial information
