SLED Account Executive, Mid-Atlantic

Halcyon is the industry's first dedicated, adaptive security platform that combines multiple proprietary advanced prevention engines along with AI models focused specifically on stopping ransomware.

Halcyon was formed in 2021 by a team of cyber industry veterans after battling the scourge of ransomware (and advanced threats) for years at some of the largest global security vendors. Comprised of leaders from Cylance (now Blackberry), Accuvant (now Optiv), Fireye and ISS X-Force (now IBM), Halcyon is focused on building products and solutions for mid-market and enterprise customers.

The Role

Halcyon is expanding our SLED team and seeking a driven Account Executive (Mid-Atlantic) to build and grow our presence across Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and North Carolina. You'll own a defined territory, working with state and local governments, higher education institutions, and key public sector partners to drive net-new business.

This role requires a hunter mindset, strong knowledge of the public sector procurement landscape, and the ability to position Halcyon's unique ransomware defense value proposition with technical and executive buyers.

What You'll Do

  • Drive net-new sales across state, local, and education accounts in the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Manage the full sales cycle : prospecting, discovery, solution positioning, negotiation, and close.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with government stakeholders and partners.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Engineering, Marketing, and Channel teams to execute regional go-to-market plans.
  • Leverage your understanding of SLED procurement vehicles and partner ecosystems to accelerate deals.
  • Consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual quota.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of direct sales experience in cybersecurity, SaaS, or enterprise software.
  • Proven track record selling into SLED accounts (state, local, higher ed) in the Mid-Atlantic.
  • Familiarity with SLED procurement processes (RFPs, contracts, vehicles, resellers, etc.).
  • Strong hunter mentality with experience prospecting and closing net-new logos.
  • Ability to engage both technical and executive stakeholders with confidence.
  • Experience working with public sector VARs, GSIs, and ecosystem partners.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

  • In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the range provided is Halcyon's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses / incentives, and equity in the Company.
