Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med / Surg position in California requiring a valid CA RN license and strong clinical skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is located in a hospital Medical / Surgical unit
  • Night shift schedule is 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM with 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
  • Every other weekend coverage is required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • May float to other units within scope at the hospital and between campuses as needed
  • Travelers may receive up to 1.5 hours notice prior to shift start for floating
  • Epic EMR experience is preferred
  • Responsible for the overall management of patient care from admission to discharge, emphasizing safety, comfort, and disease prevention
  • Leads nursing care planning, coordination, and emergency response in both routine and complex situations
  • Acts as a liaison among patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care
  • Completes modules and orientation through e-learning; module hours are factored into onboarding requirements
  • Must be able to complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
  • Return staff policy requires at least a one-year gap to return as a traveler
  • Only one holiday request for time off will be approved during the contract
  • All candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
  • Locals are accepted at a different pay structure

  • Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration
  • Current BLS and NIHSS certifications, all must be AHA and held at time of submission
  • Minimum of 2 years recent Medical / Surgical RN experience required
  • Experience with Epic EMR preferred
  • Must be willing and able to float within scope across hospital units and campuses
