Production Supervisor II

Job Summary
CMS Energy is seeking two experienced and motivated Production Supervisors II to join our generation facility team in Olive Township, MI. This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of a power generation facility. The Production Supervisor will coordinate and oversee daily operational activities, ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, and lead a team of bargaining unit employees and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day operations of power generation equipment and associated support functions.
Set work priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate with other supervisors to ensure timely completion of work.
Lead and participate in operating reviews, problem-solving initiatives, and special projects.
Monitor performance metrics, create and update visual management tools, and implement Lean methodologies.
Identify cost-saving and automation opportunities, ensuring proper documentation and follow-through.
Provide input on budget requirements and operational improvements.
Utilize enterprise software systems for work tracking, reporting, and resource management.
Act as first-line troubleshooting contact for operational equipment and system issues.
Collaborate with support groups (Maintenance, Engineering, etc.) to resolve equipment and performance deficiencies.
Ensure adherence to company safety culture, policies, and union contract provisions.
Train, mentor, and actively develop operations staff for performance and growth.
Manage administrative responsibilities including timesheet approval, policy compliance, PPE oversight, and on-call resource planning.
Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Field, Skilled Trades, or related discipline.
2–4 years of experience demonstrating technical knowledge in power plant or industrial operations.
Required Knowledge & Competencies
Broad Knowledge of power plant operations, equipment, systems, and procedures.
Broad Knowledge of safety standards, work methods, and related industrial technologies.
Broad Knowledge of union contract application, including administration and compliance.
Leadership Acumen with proven supervisory and coaching abilities.
Broad Knowledge in communication and conflict resolution.
Basic Knowledge of critical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation techniques.
Broad Knowledge of scheduling processes and work coordination.
