The company is looking for a highly motivated, independent, and detail-oriented scientist to lead and expand our induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) core. This role is pivotal in establishing the foundation for preclinical research and future manufacturing readiness.
This is a high-impact position that begins with hands-on laboratory work-mastering systems, protocols, and team dynamics- and evolves into managing a large-scale iPSC platform encompassing multiple cell lines and differentiation pathways. You will implement robust quality control (QC) standards, ensure operational consistency, and develop scalable systems for long-term success.
Over time, you will broaden the core's capabilities to include predictive QC tools (e.g., imaging, sequencing), support translational workflows, and prepare for clinical-grade operations.
Key Responsibilities
Core Operations
- Oversee daily operations of the iPSC core.
- Maintain cell banks and perform QC on iPSCs and feeder lines.
- Track QC data, reagents, consumables, and equipment; coordinate with Operations for facility upkeep.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for routine workflows.
- Collaborate with cell engineering teams to validate, QC, and integrate new cell lines.
Team Leadership
Mentor and manage a small team; set clear expectations for documentation and accountability.Foster engagement and professional growth among junior scientists.Communicate timelines, risks, and mitigation strategies across R&D and Operations.Innovation & QC Development
Work with R&D teams to standardize and scale differentiation protocols for multiple lineages.Partner with computational biology experts to implement predictive QC methods using imaging and RNA sequencing.Propose and develop improvements to enhance cell quality, efficiency, and early risk detection.Qualifications
PhD in Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, or related discipline (preferred), or Master's with significant industry experience.Deep expertise in iPSC culture and differentiation to one or more lineages.Proven ability to manage organized, traceable, and high-quality cell culture operations.Experience mentoring or managing junior scientists.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Drive to build scalable systems from research through preclinical readiness.
