Job Title : Strategic Engineering Process Improvement Leader

Compensation : $77 - $130 hourly

Contractor Work Model : Fully Remote

System One is seeking to contract with a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Engineering Process Improvement Leader to help develop, communicate and align the strategic development and management of engineering processes for our client's Advanced Reactor Demonstration project. The ideal candidate is a proactive and results-driven Principal Level Advisor who can support the Director of Design Integration in leading strategic initiatives, streamlining operations, and driving organizational effectiveness. This role will play a critical part in developing and implementing efficient processes, defining and tracking key performance metrics, and coordinating cross-functional efforts to meet departmental and enterprise goals. This individual must also be a strong communicator, process-oriented thinker, and influential leader capable of working across organizational boundaries to deliver results. The ideal candidate also has worked in a variety of leadership roles and has experience with implementing new processes for engineers.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Support : Act as the primary advisor and operational partner to the Director, helping translate strategic goals into actionable plans for configuration management, systems engineering and other engineering processes.
• Process Development & Optimization : Identify, develop, and implement scalable processes that improve efficiency, standardization, and quality of outcomes across the organization.
• Metrics & Performance Management : Design and manage performance metrics and dashboards to monitor progress, drive accountability, and inform data-driven decision-making.
• Cross-Functional Leadership : Interface with internal teams, external stakeholders, and senior leadership to align priorities, coordinate resources, and resolve issues, especially related to process and infrastructure.
• Influence & Communication : Represent the Director in instituting goals and vision in meetings and communications as needed; help to drive alignment across diverse teams.
• Engineering Process Program / Project Support : Support critical projects and initiatives, ensuring clear scope, timely execution, and measurable impact.
• Continuous Improvement : Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation and operational excellence.
• Business Development Support : Role may involve interfacing with Business Development to support Engineering and our client's Project initiatives.
