CAH-Radiology – Ultrasound Tech – Per Diem -Various Shifts- 7 : 00a-5p, 8a-6p. 1p-11p as needed, – Req 8519

Pay Range :

Ultrasonographer $47.38-$54.60

Provides patient services using imaging modalities. Evaluates images for technical quality. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of images. Provides patient care essential to procedures. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures. Performs all aspects of clerical duties essential to running an efficient department. Maintains all equipment to obtain best possible results. Is in-serviced in QA program and helps obtain information needed. Helps perform testing required by NYS DOH. Follows hospital and department policies. Assists in film retrieval from off-site storage facility. Training and competency in the Hospital Pacs system (synapse) and Hospital Information system.

Requirements :

Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program required.

RDMS Certification is required in one of the following areas : Abdomen, OB / GYN

Experience in vascular preferred.

Current CPR Certification.

Minimum of two years’ experience as a sonographer preferred.

Ability to maintain quality control standards.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers.

Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint area of imaging.

Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.

Must be able to act calmly and effectively in busy, stressful or emergency situations.

Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
