Overview
Store Manager in training role at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Assist store manager in areas of sales, appearance, and overall operations. Objective is to receive hands on training preparing for a management position in another store or future location.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the professional and retail operations of store and team members involved.
- Work with district manager and store manager in recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and discharging team members.
- Communicate information from Team Weekly and monthly store managers' meetings to all team members.
- Train new team members; handle team member performance evaluations and recommend pay increases.
- Assist in hiring by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews; evaluate candidates and collaborate with management to ensure qualified hires.
- Support store manager with safety compliance and training; reinforce safety expectations.
- Make sales calls with / without store manager; may be assigned a schedule for weekly customer calls.
- Support store manager in area of store operations as assigned.
- Responsible for the maintenance of delivery fleet and maintain records for each vehicle; ensure staff keeps store clean and organized; manage electronic scheduling, clocking, and payroll entry functions.
- Learn to manage components of gross profit; monitor returns for core and warranty abuse; review price matches and overrides; review KPI dashboard daily and discuss areas of opportunity in monthly P&L with the store manager.
Qualifications
High School DiplomaExcellent interpersonal and leadership skillsMust complete Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development ProgramAbility to read and match numerical / alpha characters quickly and accuratelyKnowledge of automotive parts, equipment and systemsDesirable : O'Reilly store / distribution center experience; completed management training program; advanced computer skills; ASE Certification; multilingual (Spanish highly desired)Benefits / Total Compensation
