We are seeking a Research and Development Associate III to join Antibody and Delivery Technologies unit within Biologics Drug Discovery (BDD) team, contributing to our mission to design, optimize, and develop therapeutics to improve the lives of patients with neurodegenerative diseases. In this role, you will work in a lab with a cross-functional team performing experiments where your work will support the development of novel biologics therapeutic approaches to treat CNS and neuromuscular diseases.
What You ll Do :
Establish and perform in vivo PK / PD studies for therapeutic proteins, antisense oligonucleotides, viral vectors and other modalities with CNS delivery / targeting properties.
Perform in vivo immunizations to generate antigen specific antibodies from B cells by next-generation sequencing or hybridoma production
Contribute to research efforts on specific projects involving novel BBB targets and other modalities
Perform biochemical and molecular biology assays to enable PK / PD analysis of therapeutic candidate drugs, including ELISA / MSD, and qPCR
Work as a part of a collaborative and cross-functional team
Perform data analysis, maintain electronic laboratory notebooks, and present data
Qualifications : Required Skills :
Education level BS, MS or Ph.D in Biochemistry, analytical Chemistry or related major.
Expertise with in vivo procedures, including injections (IV, SC, IP), blood collection and necropsy / tissue collection (brain, spinal cord, muscle and other tissues)
Experience with in vivo immunization techniques for antibody generation
Ability to establish and perform biochemical and molecular assays, including ELISA / MSD, qPCR, BCA and other relevant techniques
Strong communication, organization and documentation skills
Quantitative data analysis using GraphPad Prism, MS Office or other relevant software.
Preferred Skills :
Knowledge in BBB field and CNS delivery technologies including viral-delivery technologies and receptor-mediated transcytosis
Knowledge of basic neurobiology, neurodegenerative diseases and drug discovery
Ability to establish and perform biochemical and molecular assays, including FACS and internalization assays using cellular imaging
Experience with immunohistochemistry, histology and microscopy
Experience in handling and working with large molecules
