Who are we?
The SRPMIC is a sovereign tribe located in the metropolitan Phoenix area. Bounded by the cities of Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa and Fountain Hills, the Community serves over 10,800 tribal members, and all persons conducting business over approximately 96 square miles area of residential, agricultural and commercial lands, as a full-service government entity. The Community also operates tribal enterprises in diverse industries.
What the job looks like
The SRPMIC’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC) is seeking a legal advisor, representative and counselor to the government, departments, divisions and enterprises of the Community.
We are seeking a solution-oriented, highly skilled and professional attorney to join our team. You will be responsible for performing a variety of legal tasks related to tribal operations. Serving as in-house counsel to provide legal expertise to the tribal government on a wide range of matters, including governance, litigation, economic development, federal law compliance, internal operations, protect and enhance tribal sovereignty.
Being the in-house counsel, this position must devote full time to the duties of the office and shall not directly or indirectly engage in the private practice of law or in an occupation conflicting with such duties.
