About the Job

The University of Minnesota, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition located in Minneapolis is seeking a Gastroenterologist / Hepatologist to become an integral team member within an academic division that is dedicated to cutting-edge and patient-centered care. The ideal candidate position will have an interest in continuing the development of our hepatology and transplant hepatology programs.

About the Division :

The Gastroenterology Division's general GI Section hosts expanding clinical and research programs in IBD, esophageal disorders, complex polypectomy, use of AI in endoscopy and functional GI diseases. The transplant hepatology section hosts one of the longest standing liver transplant programs in the United States. The Division is also home to a nationally-recognized Advanced Endoscopy Section for the development and management of ERCP, EUS, and management of complex pancreas / biliary disorders. The Division continues to maintain highest ambitions for excellence in all three of its major missions : patient services, teaching, and research.

Opportunity Highlights :

• Responsibilities include inpatient attending on the liver service at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center.
• Outpatient liver clinics are in the state-of-the-art facility at M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center in Minneapolis.
• Provide consultations and outreach activities.
• It is anticipated that this individual will develop a clinical research program.
• Be an active, ongoing participant in the academic missions of the Department of Medicine and the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
• Enjoy ample opportunities to teach medical students, residents and Gastroenterology fellows.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range : This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired, and begins at $55,000. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with the market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
