GENERAL SUMMARY :

Applies paint and other coatings to metal, wood, and fabricated items, utilizing various techniques to achieve desired finishes and meet specified requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Applies lacquer, rust-proofing agents, and other coatings to surfaces.
• Performs special finishing techniques such as marbling and graining.
• Prepares items for painting by tinting, toning, matching, blending, and mixing additives.
• Paints articles using brushes and other methods.
• Is required to use a spray gun.
• Transfers items to and from work area.
• Follows instructions provided through routings, blueprints, specifications, and other documentation.
• Pays close attention to detail to ensure precise coating application and avoid defects.
