Description : Position Summary :

The Director of Food & Beverage and Event Rentals is responsible for overseeing the all event rental and food & beverage operations at Omaha Performing Arts. This position integrates venue booking, event execution, and culinary services to maximize revenue, enhance client satisfaction, and ensure a seamless event experience. The Director provides strategic leadership for both rental sales and food service operations while maintaining the highest standards of service quality and operational efficiency.

This position requires expertise in both event management and food service operations, with the ability to coordinate complex logistics across multiple revenue streams. The Director works closely with various departments to cultivate strong client relationships, develop innovative offerings, and drive departmental growth while adhering to O-pa's Core Values of Collaboration, Inclusion, Trust and Integrity.

Position Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Work with various teams to develop creative strategies to promote event rentals and attract new clients.
  • Establish plans to maximize revenue potential and venue usage across all O-pa facilities.
  • Actively participate in networking events and industry groups. Maintain awareness of industry trends.
  • Oversee all aspects of food and beverage service across all O-pa venues.
  • Work with the culinary team to develop innovative menus while maintaining O-pa food standards.
  • Maintain sanitary and safe operations in accordance with Federal, State, and local health regulations, including HACCP guidelines.
  • Manage inventory control processes.
  • Create and implement strategies that optimize both event rental and food service revenue.
  • Prepare and monitor annual budgets.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and regularly analyze performance against goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, clients, and industry partners.
  • Ensure department competitiveness through innovation.
  • Foster effective communication within the department, as well as with others within the organization.
  • Enforce rules / regulations concerning facility use and adherence to contractual terms, including securing payment.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • Senior Catering and Events Manager, Senior Food and Beverage Operations Manager and Executive Chef.
  • Physical Demands / Working Conditions :

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a squatting, kneeling and / or standing position for an extended period.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Minimum Experience and Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the food service industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
  • Must possess superior interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Knowledge of local, State, and Federal laws relating to the food service industry.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Event and catering sales experience preferred.
  • ServSafe certified or have the ability to become Servsafe certified.
  • Must be available to work some nights and weekends.
  • Minimum Education Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, food service management, or hospitality management is preferred.
