American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in a Level I trauma and teaching hospital, requiring strong telemetry and dysrhythmia management skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a PACU setting within a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospitalPrimary patient flow is pre-op, with coverage starting at 7 : 00 am, Monday through FridayPatient population includes neuro, ortho, GI, GYN, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, vascular, urology, ortho spine, and general surgery casesNurse to patient ratio is 2 : 1Special procedures include anesthesia-assisted procedures, moderate sedation, and electroconvulsive therapyRequired to use Epic EMR systemNo weekend or on-call requirementsNo floating outside of unit responsibilitiesRole centers on pre-operative care and stabilization of diverse surgical patients in a fast-paced trauma care environmentExperience in academic teaching and trauma hospital settings is preferredOrientation week is fixed; no RTO permitted during this period and personal leave should be kept to a minimumReturn staff must have a separation of at least 18 months before being eligible to return as travelersFirst-time travelers are generally not considered unless exceptional experience is demonstratedScrub attire may be any solid color; unit provides light blue or OR scrubs as neededDaytime offsite parking with shuttle is available for a feeLocal candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum 2 years of recent PACU experience requiredMust have completed at least 2 previous travel assignments beyond initial hospitalCurrent ACLS and BLS certifications required; PALS preferredProficiency in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management requiredSkills required include ventilator management, IV starts, and conscious sedationCOVID vaccination and booster are required\n Benefits\n
