About The Position
Medix is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mammography Technologist for a contract travel assignment with one of our valued client facilities lcoated in New York. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled clinician to bring their expertise to a new environment and collaborate with a cohesive team. The successful candidate will be a vital part of the radiology department, providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services and patient care.
As a Mammography Technologist on this assignment, you will be responsible for performing a range of mammography and general radiological procedures in accordance with practice standards. The department utilizes 2 mammography rooms and works collaboratively, performing approximately 10-14 scans per day. Experience with stereotactic procedures and 3D mammography (tomosynthesis) is required.

Clinical Duties and Responsibilities :
Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and all faculty and staff in a courteous, helpful, professional, and ethical manner.Perform mammographies and general radiological procedures according to practice standards :
Review imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided.Position patient and select appropriate options to ensure best-case imaging based on accepted mammography standard of practice and institutional imaging protocols.Observe patient for change in status and make appropriate intervention or contact primary care givers for instruction.Judge diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation.Offer detailed explanation of diagnostic procedures to patients and answer questions as appropriate.Assist radiologist with stereotactic core biopsies, setting up the patient, and ensuring all pre- and post-procedure documentation is complete.Operate and maintain equipment on a daily basis, including maintaining logbooks with equipment performance data, scheduling PM, performing QA, and maintaining records required for and participating in inspections (including MQSA reporting).Perform clerical responsibilities associated with the acquisition, processing, and archiving of patient records.Take initiative to resolve patient safety and patient experience concerns within the scope of practice / training / education.Create an environment of safety by utilizing practice standards and ensuring the overall condition of the treatment room is clean and safe.Ensure inventory and adequate supply of personal protective equipment and other hygiene products in the patient treatment area.10851304EXPPLAT
Job Requirements
High school graduate or equivalency.A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.NYS License required.ARRT certification required.Mammography certified (M) required.Current BLS required.Proficiency with stereotactic procedures.Experience with 3D mammography (tomosynthesis).Experience utilizing EPIC (EMR) and VUEPACS is preferred.Benefits
