Join Our Team as a Respiratory Therapist!

Department : Respiratory Therapy

Location : Canton - Potsdam Hospital

Hours Per Week : 37.5

Schedule : 12-hour night shift, 7 PM - 7 AM; every other weekend rotation

Sign-On Bonus : Up to $15,000

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive top-notch respiratory care. Collaborating closely with the Director of Respiratory Services and other healthcare professionals, you will assess patient needs and develop tailored care plans. Your expertise will be crucial in addressing respiratory distress and managing critical situations with confidence and skill.

Your Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning : Collaborate with the Respiratory Director to align operational goals with our organizational vision, staying aware of factors that impact success.
  • Operational Performance : Help develop and monitor operational objectives, communicate performance outcomes, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Quality & Safety Improvement : Implement evidence-based quality indicators and safety strategies, while providing training on quality methodologies.
  • Financial & Resource Management : Assist in managing operations to meet financial standards, reduce waste, and ensure efficiency through collaboration.
  • Customer Service Excellence : Deliver exceptional service by prioritizing the needs of patients, physicians, and staff in all operational decisions.

What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications :

  • Graduate of an American Medical Association approved two-year Respiratory school or equivalent.
  • Current NYS Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Technician license.
  • Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care or equivalent.
  • Current AHA BLS certification at hire.
  • AHA ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care, RPFT qualification, or CCRP certification.
  • Clinical experience in general and critical respiratory therapies.

    • Working Conditions

    This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including the possibility of variable shifts, weekends, and holidays. You will also be involved in patient transports, both in-house and to other facilities.

    Physical Requirements

    This role involves medium work, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently. Frequent walking, standing, or squatting is also necessary.

    Compensation and Benefits

    Pay Range : $35.42 - $52.55

    This pay range is a good faith representation of potential base pay for a successful full-time applicant. It may be adjusted in the future and is eligible for additional pay components based on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
