Porter
The ideal porter responsibilities will be to assist with the cleanliness and maintenance of the program needs.
Key / Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
- Keeps program clean and in orderly condition
- Cleaning common areas / following CDC guidelines for cleanliness of the facility (i.e., bathrooms, kitchens, backyard)
- Sweeping and mopping of classrooms and hallway floors
- Service, clean, and stock / supply bathrooms regularly
- Ensure all paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizing dispensers are properly working and refilled
- Notify Program Supervisor on a weekly basis in regards to ordering supplies needed
- Disinfect all surfaces in the Program such as waiting room, cafeteria, chairs, and core rooms
- Assist in emergency spills and clean ups
- Empty boxes into the shredding bins on a weekly basis
- Update the cleaning log on a daily basis
- Gather and empty trash
- Able to multitask
- Able to move heavy objects
- Able to complete monthly trainings on Workday
- Build and maintain positive relationships with the peers, colleagues, and leadership
Minimum Qualification Requirements :
NY State ID preferredWork or life experience supporting people with intellectual / developmental disabilities preferredAbility to participate in 3-5 weekdays of paid NYS Mandated OPWDD initial trainings during normal business hours upon hireTuberculosis test mandatory for most positionsCompensation : $17.50 / hour
