Position : Senior Accountant

Client Location : Nashville, TN

PositionType : Contract

FOCUSPOINT is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to support the accounting team of a healthcare client. This contract role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in financial accounting and a passion for operational excellence. The selected candidate will play a key role in preparing and analyzing financial data, supporting audits, and maintaining reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities

Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare monthly reconciliations with supporting documentation
Review and process Accounts Payable transactions, including Referral Source Check Requests
Assist with tax work papers, cost reports, and audit documentation
Monitor shared inbox and respond to internal and external inquiries professionally and promptly
Maintain daily reporting systems and ensure data integrity
Uphold confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies
Support additional accounting tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited institution

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in financial accounting or a related field

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Business Objects

Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively

Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal

Familiarity with financial and analytical reporting systems preferred

Ability to interpret statistical data and ensure accuracy in reporting
