Electrician Foreman / Journeyman for PREVAILING WAGE JOBS

So Cal Communications Group, Inc is looking for an exceptional Journeyman Electrician to join our fast-growing company and bring positive / can do attitude to our electrical division. Upon joining our company, your primary responsibility will be to consistently uphold excellence in commercial electrical duties, from conduit installations to troubleshooting. In our close-knit team, not only will you be using your expertise but also rotating as a foreman while still performing electrical duties, ensuring tasks are executed while championing team spirit. Here, our ethos is simple : we have each other’s back. An active CA Journeyman License is mandatory.

This role- Summary

  • Conduit Work : Handle the installation, bending, and removal of electrical conduit to facilitate the safe encasement of electrical wiring
  • Lighting Systems : Responsible for the installation and replacement of lighting fixtures and systems
  • Electrical Components : Engage in the installation, maintenance, and replacement of critical components including electrical panels, transformers, switches, motors, and similar devices
  • Wiring : Execute the task of pulling electrical wiring through conduits, ensuring the safety and longevity of the electrical system
  • Termination : Accurately terminate electrical panels, set fixtures, outlets, and various other electrical devices, ensuring optimal connectivity and function
  • Wire Installation : Install and connect wires to a range of components including circuit breakers, transformers, outlets, and other systems, ensuring secure and effective electrical flow
  • Team Coordination : Oversee the team of electricians and other tradespeople, coordinating tasks and ensuring efficient workflow
  • Project Oversight : Monitor the progress of the project, ensuring it stays on schedule and within budget
  • Quality Control : Conduct inspections of work to ensure quality and compliance with plans and codes

  • Material Management : Ensuring proper material is ordered and on site for smooth project execution
  • Training & Safety : Provide on-the-job training for junior electricians and enforce safety protocols

To be successful in this job the right candidate must

  • Must be a State of California Certified Journeyman Electrician. Certifications will be checked with the California Department of Industrial Labor (DIR). Certification MUST be active
  • Proven experience in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, ensuring accurate execution of projects as per design and planning
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey information clearly to team members
  • Must excel working in a team as well as leading the team
  • Computer skills such as Microsoft outlook to provide daily status
  • Ability to work in various positions, such as kneeling or standing, for extended periods
  • 5 + years relevant experience
  • Experience leading crews of 2-3 technicians
  • Demonstrable recent experience performing electrical installations in commercial settings, showcasing familiarity with the demands and standards of commercial projects
  • Experience diagnosing and fixing electrical issues
  • Proficiency in repairing or replacing faulty components
  • Must be well-versed with updated NEC (National Electrical Code) codes, ensuring all installations and maintenance work meets national standards
  • Candidates must own their personal set of tools and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment
  • Must pass a criminal record check, DOJ live scan and pass drug testing
  • Must have a clean and valid driver’s license
  • Must have current OSHA 10 certification active
