Job Description

Actalent is seeking to hire a detail-driven designer who excels in SolidWorks and has a passion for transforming complex ideas into precise, buildable solutions. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by creating high-quality electrical and structural designs that support critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Create detailed electrical and structural designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Collaborate with engineering teams to refine layouts and meet project goals.

Ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

Maintain documentation and support quality checks.

Contribute to process improvements and R&D initiatives.

Essential Skills

3-5 years of professional SolidWorks experience in a drafting / design capacity.

Proficient in AutoCAD.

Strong proficiency in SolidWorks.

Proven background in fabrication.

Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Familiarity with the transmission industry.

Experience in electrical distribution modeling.

Capability to model actual substation years.

Understanding of project mating techniques.

Ability to visualize and explain the model when disassembled.

Approach to hole placement and setup.

Skill in assembling a 3D viewable model.

Capability to maintain the model or export it as a print.

SolidWorks certification (CSWA, CSWP, CSWE) with a basic understanding of AutoCAD.

Associate’s degree in drafting / design or related field (Bachelor’s a plus).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00 / hr.
