Professional Accountant Specialist
This is a highly professional position requiring substantial financial, administrative and operational knowledge of the Agency's Medicaid State and Local Administration Program for Medicaid's Medical Assistance Program (MAP), Administration (ADM) and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The incumbent in this position performs a variety of financial management duties independently and under the direct supervision of the Operations and Management Consultant Manager. This position's significant responsibilities involve the preparation of federal budget and expenditure reports, grants management and administration, cash and revenue management, contract administration and financial analyses. This position functions as the primary financial contact between the Florida State Medicaid Program, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and state and federal auditors regarding funds for Title XIX and as needed for Title XXI funds.

Minimum Qualifications Requirements : Four years of professional accounting experience with the State of Florida. Professional or non-professional accounting experience or any combination of this experience and up to 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college education, including two courses in accounting, can substitute for the required experience. A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field can substitute for the required experience.
