Contents Technician
Contents technicians, also known as contents cleaning technicians, work with customers to restore personal and commercial items after a disaster. They may work in residential or commercial settings, either on-site or at a facility, and may work under supervision or independently. Their responsibilities include :
- Packing and moving : Packing and loading contents, boxing up belongings, and moving them to a warehouse or cleaning facility
- Cleaning : Cleaning contents, structures, and fabrics, and deodorizing the area
- Restoring : Restoring household items and furniture, and identifying salvageable items
- Inventorying : Creating inventory lists and taking accurate photos of all items
- Providing customer service : Working with customers to ensure they have a good experience
Other duties may include disassembly and reassembly, mitigation services, ambient air filtration, and laundering items.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistanceAbility to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)Ability to repetitively push / pull / lift / carry objectsAbility to work with / around cleaning agentsPay starts at $15 - $17 an hour based on experience, with the possibility of overtime pay.
