Position Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for unloading and loading materials from trailers and storage areas, ensuring

materials are handled safely. Materials Handlers must check that materials are packaged correctly, are not

damaged, and are up-to-date in the computer systems. Material Handlers are also responsible for entering data

into the computer systems correctly and on a timely basis, as well as organizing and maintaining inventory indoors and out in the Yard (outdoors), including measurement of different sizes of bar stock and organizing the steelyard accordingly.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Check work area for hazards.
• Work safely and inform other and supervisor of any observed safety issues.
• Consult with Team Leader about scheduled production. Plan the most efficient methods of completing work

assignments.
