Job Description

This is a remote position.

As a Remote Data Entry Clerk / Keyer at Hobie, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our data systems. Your responsibilities will include entering, updating, and verifying data from various sources to support our operational functions, including manufacturing, logistics, sales, and customer service. This position requires strong typing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

Data Entry : Accurately input and update data from various sources, such as invoices, purchase orders, and customer information, into company systems.

Data Verification : Review and verify data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, promptly correcting any errors or discrepancies.

Data Management : Maintain organized digital records and files, ensuring easy access to stored data when needed.

Reporting : Generate reports and summaries based on stored data to support decision-making processes and business operations.

Collaboration : Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors through digital channels, providing progress updates and promptly addressing data-related queries.

Confidentiality : Handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion, adhering to company policies and data protection regulations.

Requirements

Education : High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in office administration or data management is a plus.

Experience : Proven experience as a data entry clerk or in a similar role; experience in the outdoor recreation or manufacturing industry is a plus.

Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and data entry software; familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous.

Typing Skills : Fast and accurate typing skills; knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred.

Attention to Detail : Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.

Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or certificate in business administration, data management or related field preferred. Proven experience in data entry, clerical or administrative roles—preferably in a manufacturing, retail, e-commerce or distribution environment. Strong typing skills (e.g., 50+ wpm) with excellent accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets), comfortable working with large datasets; familiarity with ERP or inventory systems is a plus. Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize tasks, work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across remote teams. Reliable remote work setup with strong internet connection, ability to maintain focus in a home-office environment. Interest in outdoor recreation, water-sports or familiarity with the Hobie brand is a plus — helpful to understand the product context.
