Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced LDRP RN with at least 2 years of acute labor and delivery experience and a current ND or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care hospital on a combined Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unitUnit includes 7 L&D beds, 8 postpartum beds, and 1 OR suite for C-sectionsPatient population primarily includes obstetric, neonates, hypertension, and gestational diabetes casesAverage of 58 births per monthCharting is done using the Meditech EMR system and the traceview / PIP EFM systemShifts are 12 hours, typically days with call and block scheduling; every other weekend and every other holiday requiredFloating required to MedSurg and ER units within skillset; permanent staff float firstMaroon scrubs are provided and must be changed into on the unitDaily duties include reading fetal strips, titrating drips, and caring for both laboring and postpartum patientsCharge nurse is present and also takes a patient assignment on each shiftSupport is provided by CNAs and surgical techs for vitals, paperwork, and transfersOrientation consists of 3 unit-specific shiftsFirst time travelers are considered for this roleAll requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; no additional RTO will be approved after submissionRequirements
Active ND or compact RN license required at the time of considerationMinimum of 2 years' recent L&D or LDRP experience requiredCurrent BLS certification and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring requiredAbility to read and interpret fetal monitoring strips independentlyExperience titrating drips such as Pitocin, insulin, and magnesiumStrong critical thinking and adaptability skillsMust provide two professional references : one supervisor within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor within the last 3 yearsMust not have been employed by any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI or Dignity) in the last 12 monthsResidency must be at least 50 miles from facility locationBenefits
