Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a community hospital, requiring a VA or compact RN license and EPIC charting proficiency.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a community hospital
  • Adult and pediatric emergency patient population
  • Mid-shift schedule with 12-hour day shifts from 10 : 00 AM to 10 : 00 PM, three days per week
  • Candidates may be required to float within the hospital within scope if needed
  • Locals are accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
  • Uses EPIC EMR; EPIC experience is required
  • Must complete orientation modules on the VCU Learning Exchange during the first week
  • No guaranteed time off in the first week of assignment; all time-off requests must be submitted for approval, and holidays are not guaranteed off
  • Natural nail policy and tobacco-free workplace in effect
  • First day start contingent upon completion of required fingerprinting results
  • All ER staff must comply with smoke-free campus policy

  • Active VA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 1 year recent experience as an ER RN required
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate’s, or BSN; ACEN or CCNE accreditation accepted)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with EPIC charting required
  • Two professional references required
  • Must submit to fingerprinting and background check as required by Virginia state code
  • Candidates may not have been employed at the facility as staff or traveler within the previous 12 months
