Responsibilities Work in the Med / Surg Tele unit of a Level I Trauma, teaching, and acute care hospital Patient ratios are 1 : 5, possibly 1 : 6, with the hospital operating at high capacity Travelers will float to PCU, lower acuity Med / Surg floors, and may float to the ED within skillset with a 1 : 5 ratio in ED Day shifts (3x12 hours), 7 : 00 to 19 : 30 Charting is completed using Cerner EMR IV starts and telemetry monitoring are required skills First-time travelers are accepted for this position May work up to 12 consecutive months before a break between assignments is needed Contract options available for 36 or 48 hours per week Weekend coverage required for at least 2 weekends per 4-week schedule, may vary by unit needs No on-call responsibilities required Holiday time off requests are limited; only one 'holiday bundle' may be requested, and no time off is permitted during the first or last 7 days of the contract RTO of greater than 10 days will require approval Parking is free for staff Modules are completed during orientation and annually Requirements Active NM or compact RN license is required (pending license accepted) Minimum of 1 year recent Med / Surg Tele experience required Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications required COVID vaccination required unless a signed exemption form by a provider is submitted Must live at least 75 miles from the facility (no locals accepted) Required to wear black scrubs (not provided) Driver's license or transportation plan required for compliance P / F testing required prior to start RQI certifications are not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-626185.
