We're looking for a hands-on Construction Inspector to join a long-standing infrastructure team supporting water and wastewater projects across Indiana. If you enjoy being out in the field, taking ownership of your work, and making a real impact on local communities, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Be Doing

Be on-site full-time during construction projects.

Monitor progress and quality of work, ensuring it aligns with plans and specs.

Keep detailed daily logs and updated drawings.

Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors.

Review submittals, schedules, and payment applications.

Support the engineering team and act as a liaison between contractor and owner.

Follow site safety protocols and help resolve issues as they arise.

Types of Projects You'll Work On

Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants

Underground Utility Installations (Water, Sewer, Storm)

Pump & Lift Stations

Rehab of Municipal Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Systems

What We're Looking For

Experience in construction or inspection of underground utility systems.

Ability to read civil construction plans and specs.

Strong computer skills (Procore, Excel, Word, Outlook).

Willingness to travel and stay overnight when needed.

Bonus if you've worked with a civil consulting firm or have contractor-side experience.

Travel & Perks

Travel across Indiana with mileage reimbursed at $0.70 / mile.

Projects that are within 60 - 90 minutes (80 miles is around the max) of the person's home are typically a commute back and forth. If the commute to the project site is over 90 minutes, then the company will look to see what is more cost effective mileage everyday OR hotel / apartment.

Per diem : $40 / day (breakfast + dinner).

Standard hours : 7AM-4PM, with some overtime (up to 50+ hrs / week).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience as Construction Inspectors / RPRs with civil inspection experience, preferably INDOT inspectors or water / wastewater inspectors.

Experience as Construction Team Leads, Foremen, or Managers with 5+ years of experience within underground wet utilities and / or treatment plants.

Work Environment

Candidates must be open and willing to travel overnight, staying in hotels or apartments paid for by the company. They will use their personal vehicle and be reimbursed 70 cents per mile for mileage related to job site travel. Projects are located throughout Indiana, with efforts to keep assignments close to home. Standard construction hours are from 7 AM to 4 PM, with potential for overtime up to 50+ hours as needed. The team includes 25-28 RPRs managed by dedicated construction managers.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $39.42 / hr.
