About The Position

• BLS - Basic Life Support Certification (Healthcare Provider / Professional Rescuer)

Must-Have :

Description :

The Registered Nurse will provide care in the Emergency Department specializing in Pediatrics.

The unit will handle various common diagnoses including asthma, DKA, neonates with fever, and Sickle Cell Disease.

Special procedures will include moderate sedation, breathing treatments, chest tube setup and care, CPAP / BiPap, home ventilation, and high-frequency ventilation.

The nurse will be responsible for rapid sequence intubation, trach care, ventilator management, and administering blood and blood products.

The position requires the nurse to perform cardioversion, defibrillation, and the use of cooling / warming blankets.

The nurse will interpret 12 lead EKGs and conduct rapid transfusions as needed.

Patient-to-nurse ratio will be 1 : 4.

The unit will utilize ancillary staff including technicians and LPNs / LVNs.

Dress code will be scrubs.

The unit has 31 to 40 beds, and there may be rotations on weekends and holidays.

The role may involve various critical care scenarios encompassing burns, cardiac, medical, neuro, surgical, transplant, and trauma.

It may also include medical-surgical care for general conditions as well as hematology / oncology and orthopedic cases.
