DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Maintenance Supervisor to oversee day-to-day facility operations. This key position will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, clean, and efficient operation of our facility, contributing directly to the comfort and well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise, plan, and schedule maintenance and repair tasks for the building and grounds.
- Perform skilled maintenance duties including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and more.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Life Safety and State Regulations.
- Lead, train, and support a team of maintenance workers, ensuring high-quality work standards and timely task completion.
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and perform regular inspections of the facility, equipment, and systems.
- Act as the primary point of contact for emergency maintenance needs.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and coordinate with outside vendors for major repairs or replacements.
- Ensure all maintenance records and documentation are accurate and up-to-date.
- Participate in safety and emergency preparedness drills and ensure the safety of residents, staff, and visitors.
Job Requirements :
Education : High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in building or mechanical trades.Experience : Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with preference given to those who have worked in Skilled Nursing Facilities.Knowledge : Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, maintenance practices, and mechanical / electrical systems.Skills : Proficient in facilities management systems, computer software, and safety protocols.Certifications : Current CPR certification; Illinois Class "D" Driver's License; and ability to complete a physical exam and tuberculosis tests upon hire.Abilities : Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to supervise a diverse team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, maneuver equipment, and perform tasks requiring fine motor coordination.Must be able to stand, walk, squat, climb, kneel, and work in confined spaces or at heights.Ability to respond to emergency situations and perform tasks under pressure.Why Work with Us?
